Executives who come to me for this work have usually done other coaching and even counselling. The strategy and frameworks they have been given are solid. They understand why they feel and do what they do.

And still, at 5am on a Tuesday morning before a board meeting, the imposter syndrome fires. The perfectionism pulls a delegation back. The people-pleasing adjusts the position they were planning to hold. The patterns run underneath the strategy, faster than the strategy can catch them.

This is not a failure of the previous coaching. It is a reflection of where that coaching operated: at the level of conscious thought and deliberate behaviour. Decision fatigue. When perfectionism and imposter syndrome are running, every decision costs more energy than it should. The perfectionist has to review all the options to an impossible standard. The executive with imposter syndrome second-guesses the conclusion after reaching it. Executive coaching through the REWIRE Method™ removes the wiring that produces this excess cost, so decisions are made faster and landed more confidently.

Authority and Followship under pressure. The moments when a senior executive most needs to hold their position, in a difficult board conversation, in a team conflict, in a negotiation, are also the moments when the people-pleasing and imposter syndrome patterns are most likely to fire. Rewiring those patterns means the authority, assertiveness and confidence is available when it is most needed.

Delegation that actually holds. Most perfectionist executives can delegate the task but not the anxiety. They hand the work over and then find themselves checking, questioning, and quietly pulling it back. This is not a management skill issue. It is a wiring issue.
