The short answer
What is the Rewire Method™?
The Rewire Method™ is Nicky Anstey’s structured one-to-one programme for high-performing founders, senior leaders and executives. It works at the level of belief and nervous system, not just behaviour, to resolve the root patterns behind imposter syndrome, perfectionism, anxiety and burnout, so lasting confidence, calm and performance become your natural state rather than a constant effort.
About this work
What the REWIRE Coaching Programme is and who it is for
The REWIRE Coaching Programme is a one-to-one, eight-week coaching process designed for high-achieving business owners and senior executives who are operating under extreme pressure and want permanent change, not strategies to manage it better. Nicky Anstey developed the REWIRE coaching programme in 2011 after 15 years of clinical practice, drawing on neuroscience, NLP, executive hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, and nutritional science to create a trademarked method for identifying and permanently rewiring the unconscious patterns driving performance blocks.
This is not for people who need a pep talk. It is for people who have already tried typical business coaching, read the books, and understood their patterns intellectually, and found that none of it has shifted the thing that is actually driving the problem.
Why the usual approaches do not work for high achievers
Here is the thing about the clients who come to me. They are not soft. They are not fragile. They are, most of the time, the strongest people in any room they walk into. That strength is part of the problem.
When you are capable of enduring a huge amount of pressure, you can endure it for a very long time before it becomes undeniable. When you are good at performing, you can perform through almost anything. So the cracks stay private. The exhaustion gets reframed as drive. The imposter syndrome gets reinterpreted as healthy humility and dedicated. The perfectionism gets called attention to detail. And nothing changes, because the pressure is not coming from the outside. It is coming from the internal wiring.
Most interventions work at the conscious level. Strategy, insight, reframing. They ask: what are you thinking? What beliefs are you holding? How could you see this differently? These are valuable questions. But they are the wrong level for the problem.
The patterns driving extreme pressure are subcortical. They are in the unconscious mind, running faster than thought, older than your business and in many cases older than your career. You cannot think your way out of outdated wiring. You have to change the wiring.
That is what the REWIRE coaching programme does. And it is why clients describe the results as different in kind from anything they have experienced before, not a shift in perspective but a shift in the actual terrain.

REWIRE Coaching Programme: what is included
The programme runs over eight weeks of intensive one-to-one work. Here is what that looks like.
### Weeks 1 to 2: Deep Diagnostic
We map the exact patterns running in your unconscious. I use a combination of clinical assessment, NLP profiling, and psychotherapeutic techniques to identify not just what the beliefs and patterns are but where they came from and how they are expressing in your current business leadership behaviours, relationships and wellbeing. Most clients leave this stage with a level of clarity about their own wiring that they have never had before. At this stage the key frameworks are introduced that build self belief and understanding of others and how to manage different behavioural modes in others.
This is the foundational work. Everything that follows is built on it. Without it, you are treating symptoms. With it, we are working at the root.
For head start; why not check out the Diagnosis Room to explore what may be running you underneath at the foundational level.
### Weeks 3 to 5: Rewiring at the Root
This is the core of the programme. Using NLP, clinical hypnotherapy, and psychotherapy in combination, we access and rewire the unconscious patterns identified in the diagnostic phase. This is not a metaphor. The neurological pathways that have been producing the pressure, fear, the emotional triggers, the imposter syndrome, the perfectionism, and the people-pleasing are disconnected and replaced with new ones.
Clients often notice changes within the first week of this phase: decisions feel different, the chronic background anxiety quietens, the need to control every detail starts to loosen. The wiring is changing in real time.
### Weeks 6 to 8: Performance and Integration
With the root patterns changed, we build on the new wiring. This phase focuses on leadership performance, business decision-making, communication, and the sustainable success structures that allow the business to grow without the owner having to carry all of it. We also address when necessary, the nutritional and/or physiological dimensions of performance: how you eat, how you sleep, and how your nervous system is regulated, all affect the speed and quality of the rewiring work and long term performance, health and happiness.
By the end of week eight, clients have a different internal operating system. Not a better version of the old one. A new one that feels so much better.
The three patterns this programme was built to remove
The persistent belief that you do not deserve what you have, that someone is about to find you out, that your success is more luck than earned. Imposter syndrome coaching through the REWIRE Method™ goes after the original wiring that created that belief, not the behaviour it produces.
### Perfectionism
The pattern that makes you the bottleneck in your own business. That stops you delegating, stops you finishing, and makes rest feel like a threat. Perfectionism coaching rewires the neurological link between control and safety, so that letting go becomes possible without the anxiety spike that usually follows it.
### People-pleasing
The pattern that inverts your priorities. That has you managing other people’s comfort before your own needs, saying yes when you mean no, and working twice as hard to compensate for a fear that has nothing to do with your actual competence. People-pleasing coaching removes the root of it, not the surface expression.
These three patterns rarely appear in isolation. They run together, feeding each other, compounding the pressure. The REWIRE coaching programme addresses them as a system, not individually.
What clients say changes
After completing the REWIRE coaching programme, clients consistently describe the same shifts. The background pressure is lower, sometimes dramatically so. Decision-making is faster and cleaner. The sense that the business cannot survive without their constant input starts to dissolve. They delegate. They rest without guilt. They stop running on adrenaline.
The business performance improves, but that is almost a side effect. The primary change is internal. The business is growing, and they are not paying for that growth with their health and their relationships.
This is what performance, health, and happiness aligned actually feels like.
Read the case studies to see how this has played out in specific businesses and leadership situations.
Who this programme is right for
You are probably right for the REWIRE coaching programme if:
You are running a business and performing at a high level, but the internal experience of that performance is one of sustained exhaustion and quiet dread rather than energy and satisfaction.
You have tried therapy, coaching, or other interventions and found that the insight was valuable but the change did not last.
You are in what I call the provider phase: everything depends on you, the team depends on you, the clients depend on you, and that dependency has become a source of permanent background tension rather than something you are proud of.
You are ready for something that actually changes the wiring, not something that teaches you to manage it better.
This is deep dive business coaching in the truest sense. It goes where most coaching does not reach.
The investment
The REWIRE Coaching Programme starts with the Reset 90 minute session, which is at a great value discounted rate of £247, to help you make the next step easily to do. From here we then formulate a plan that is right for you moving forward.
For most of my clients, the cost of not addressing the underlying patterns, in lost performance, lost finances, health problems, strained relationships, and the years spent running on the wrong wiring, is significantly higher than that.
The programme is delivered one-to-one, over eight weeks, and includes all sessions, hypnotherapy recordings for between-session work, nutritional support for performance (if relevant), and access to the Reset Room community for ongoing support after the programme ends.
How to start
The right first step is a Performance Reset Call. It is a focused 30-minute conversation where we look at what is driving the pressure in your specific situation. You will leave with clarity about what is going on, what the patterns are, and what it would take to change them. It is not a sales call dressed up as something else. It is a diagnostic.
If you want to get a sense of what the patterns look like before we speak, explore the Diagnosis Room or carry out the Pressure and Performance Reset Audit is a free self-assessment tool that surfaces the hidden stressors running in your business and leadership. And the Perfectionism Quiz will give you a concrete picture of what perfectionism alone is costing you.
The REWIRE coaching programme for business owners is the most thorough, deepest, most permanent change process available in this space. When you are ready, the call is the place to start.

The evidence
What the research says
The evidence behind this work
Every figure below is published, independent and linked in full, so you can check it yourself. None of it is research into the REWIRE programme specifically. It is the wider evidence base that the approach sits inside.
How widespread is the pressure this programme is built for?
Mental Health UK’s Burnout Report 2026, published on 16 January 2026, found that 91% of UK adults had experienced high or extreme levels of pressure and stress in the previous year. That figure has now held at the same level for three consecutive years. One in five workers (20%) had taken time off sick because of poor mental health caused by stress. The survey covered 4,502 UK adults, of whom 2,591 were workers, with fieldwork carried out in November 2025.
The Health and Safety Executive’s annual statistics, published on 20 November 2025, record 964,000 workers reporting stress, depression or anxiety caused or made worse by work in 2024/25. Its press release states that mental health conditions remain the primary driver of work-related ill health.
Burnout is fast becoming one of the UK’s most serious shared challenges.

Can an adult brain really change, or is “rewiring” only a metaphor?
Structural change in the adult human brain has been measured directly, and it happens faster than most people assume. In a 2008 study in PLOS ONE, Driemeyer, Boyke, Gaser, Büchel and May scanned adults learning a three-ball juggling cascade and found altered grey matter in the occipito-temporal cortex after only seven days of training. The authors reported that neither performance level nor exercise on its own accounted for the change.
Change has also been recorded after a structured eight-week psychological programme. Hölzel and colleagues, writing in Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging in 2011, scanned 16 people before and after an eight-week mindfulness-based stress reduction course and compared them with 17 waiting-list controls. They found increased grey matter concentration in the left hippocampus, with whole-brain analysis also showing increases in the posterior cingulate cortex, the temporo-parietal junction and the cerebellum.
Both studies examined juggling and mindfulness training rather than this programme, and the 2011 sample was small. What they establish is narrower than the popular version of “neuroplasticity” but more useful: the adult brain reorganises in response to sustained, repeated new demand, and it begins doing so in days and weeks rather than years. The juggling research also found the grey matter change was transient, tied to continued practice rather than permanent, which is a fair argument for why integration matters as much as the initial work.
Does one-to-one coaching produce measurable results?
The most widely cited meta-analysis on this question is Theeboom, Beersma and van Vianen (2014), published in The Journal of Positive Psychology. Pooling the available studies of coaching in organisational settings, it found significant positive effects across all five outcome categories examined: performance and skills, well-being, coping, work attitudes, and goal-directed self-regulation. Effect sizes ranged from g = 0.43 for coping to g = 0.74 for goal-directed self-regulation. The authors concluded that coaching is, overall, an effective intervention in organisations.
How common is imposter syndrome, and what is actually known about it?
A systematic review by Bravata and colleagues, published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine in 2020, examined 62 studies covering 14,161 people. Reported prevalence ranged from 9% to 82%, a spread driven largely by which screening tool and cutoff each study used. It was found in both men and women and across ages from adolescents to late-stage professionals. The review also reported that imposter syndrome frequently occurs alongside depression and anxiety, and is associated with burnout and with lower job performance and job satisfaction.
The same review noted that, at the time it was published, no study had evaluated a treatment for it. That gap is worth stating plainly rather than glossing over: the case for working on these patterns rests on clinical practice and on the wider coaching and psychotherapy evidence base, not on trial data specific to imposter syndrome.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What exactly is the REWIRE Method™ and who developed it?
The REWIRE Method™ is a trademarked process developed by Nicky Anstey over 15 years of clinical practice with 1,000+ clients. It combines neurolinguistic programming (NLP), clinical hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, and nutritional science to identify and permanently rewire the unconscious patterns driving extreme pressure, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and people-pleasing in high-achieving business owners and senior executives.
-
Is this therapy or coaching?
It is neither, in the conventional sense. It draws on both. The REWIRE coaching programme uses therapeutic techniques (psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy) to access unconscious patterns, and coaching frameworks to build on the new wiring. The combination is what makes it different. Therapy alone discusses the past and the whys. Coaching alone addresses strategies and tools. The REWIRE Method™ fixes the neurological wiring underneath both to be free of the past holding you back, make now feel easier and more productive, and the future even more successful and fulfilling ahead.
-
Can this be done online or does it need to be in person?
The full programme is available online and in person. The majority of Nicky’s clients work with her remotely, and the depth and quality of the work is identical. She works with clients across the UK and internationally.
-
How quickly will I notice a difference?
Most clients notice tangible shifts within the first two to three weeks of the rewiring phase. Not a gradual improvement, but a qualitative change in how the pressure feels and how decisions land. The full integration takes the eight weeks, but you will not be waiting until the end of the programme to notice that something has changed.
-
What if I have done NLP or hypnotherapy before and it did not work?
The REWIRE Method™ is not a standalone NLP session or a hypnotherapy recording. It is a highly personalised, clinically rigorous process that is built around the specific patterns running in your unconscious, identified through a thorough diagnostic process. If other approaches have not worked, it is usually because they were not targeted at the right level or the right patterns. That is what the diagnostic phase is designed to fix.
-
How many clients do you take on at once?
I work with a small number of clients at any one time, by design. The depth of attention this work requires is not compatible with a high volume of clients. Availability is limited. The Reset Call is the right way to find out whether a space is available.
-
Is there support between sessions?
Yes. The programme includes hypnotherapy recordings for between-session work that reinforce the rewiring done in sessions. Clients also have access to the Reset Room community for ongoing accountability and support between and after the programme.
-
What happens after the eight weeks?
The changes made in the programme are designed to be permanent. You do not need to maintain them the way you would maintain a habit or a coping strategy. Many clients continue working with Nicky after the programme, not because they need to fight the nervous system and fear response, but because they want to go further with elevating as a leader in business. Some join the Reset Room community for ongoing group support. The path after the eight weeks is entirely your choice.
